To add to our reusable beeswax wraps we've come up with this totally versatile lunch sack, these again work with just the heat of your hands to seal the wrap around your lunch or anything you would usually wrap in tin foil or cling film, these are big enough to use to wrap a whole loaf of bloomer sized bread, these are ideal for loose produce take a couple with you to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons or Asda to buy onions, apples, lemons oranges, in fact anything you can buy loose.
These are made with locally sourced beeswax and top grade extra virgin olive oil, we've opted for olive oil as an alternative to jojoba, and pine resins, as both are not commonly used in the food industry these are (usually used in cosmetics and coatings) the oil helps keep the wrap pliable and aids the sticking process.
Beeswax has natural anti-bacterial properties, which will help to keep your food fresh longer as does olive oil.
The size is as follows, height 33cm, base 10 x 15cm.
We've given them names just so you can choose which colour suits you best,
These sacks should last upto and beyond 9 months probably up to a year, when they are entirely spent simply throw in the compost to rot down,
They are not to be used with raw fish or meat, (cooked meat and fish is fine) do not place in the washing machine or dishwasher and they are not to be used in the microwave,
To store :
Keep out of direct sunlight
Keep away from heat
Store in a dark and COOL place between use.
To clean:
Using a damp cloth or sponge with a little cool water and mild detergent , simply gently wipe your wrap down and leave to dry.
Note:
There may be a naturally occurring slight beeswax aroma which will disappear after a few uses.
There will be naturally ocurring creases in the wraps as you use them , this is perfectly normal.
After time you may feel the need to refresh your wraps - this can be done by placing a wrap flat on to a baking tray and popping into the oven at 90 degrees for approx 4-5 minutes. or ironing between 2 sheets of grease-proof paper with a hot iron
